Prof. Hans Joosten: “The Golden Helmet: Limitations and Prospects of Uncovering the Truth in the Past”
We recently held a seminar by Prof. Hans Joosten, “The Golden Helmet: Limitations and Prospects of Uncovering the Truth in the Past.” Prof. Joosten is a peatland scientist at the University of Greifswald and a long-time expert on wetlands and peatland conservation. The seminar took place on April 30 (Thursday) and was attended both on-site and via Zoom. We welcomed seven guests in person from Warsaw, Berlin, and Görlitz. Youth Volunteer Camp 2025 Stories: Working with Children on Serious Issues
Dear Friends of Mongolian Wetlands! Dear partners of ABC SDG and everyone who cares! The group of brilliant, brave, strong, motivated, and devoted children would like to share their stories with you about how they are working to save Mongolia’s wetlands. Von Blanche lernen wir, uns zu bewegen, zu sprechen und unsere Gefühle wie professionelle Schauspieler auszudrücken. Und später werdet ihr noch viele spannende Dinge lernen: Dekorationen und Kostüme herstellen, das Licht einrichten, Requisiten auswählen und den Raum auf der Bühne organisieren. Line Rochefort Named Among Ramsar’s 2026 Women Changemakers in the World of Wetlands
The 2026 cohort of Women Changemakers in the World of Wetlands has been announced by the Ramsar Convention. Our team is excited to welcome these women from around the world. It was an honour to work together with Line Rochefort, who was awarded this year. Line contributed to our volunteer camp in Mongolia in 2019. Thank you, Line, for your great input and support.

Join our Kindertheater
We invite children and families to take part in the Children’s Theatre in Nikolaivorstadt — a creative community project where imagination leads the way. At the moment, the group is developing a new story about a river that has found its own voice. The children are actively involved in shaping the plot, inventing scenes, and choosing their own roles. Every participant contributes to the story, making the process as important as the final performance. The next meeting will take place on 𝟮𝟰 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 at 𝟭𝟭:𝟬𝟬 at Steinweg 1, Görlitz. For more than twenty years, economists around the world have been working to establish a market for ecosystem services. Dr Valasiuk will present the detailed study of his team on how the biodiversity of nature protected areas is valued. Possibly that could be a step towards biodiversity marketing.
