A key to the treasures of wetland ecosystems: Part 1 – Water, ice, and soil
The lecture was scheduled for a time before International Wetland Day, which is celebrated on February 2nd annually. It provided the basics on wetland ecosystems’ diversity, structure, and functions, and on their place and role in the landscape. Examples were taken from all over the world: the Arctic, the highlands of Mongolia, Peru, and Uganda, the lowlands of the Nile Basin, Siberia, and the Middle East.
